Carlos Gonzalez – Left the game early yesterday in noticeable pain. MRI on the wrist showed only inflammation and fantasy baseball owners can once again exhale. The Rockies would be smart to just put him on the DL so he can get 100%. But what do I know? I haven’t had wrist inflammation since I was 14.
Jered Weaver – 7IP, 7 Hits, 6Ks, 0ER. Weaver hasn’t lost since May 18th and though certainly due for a slight correction in August-September he has been a S-T-U-D this year.
Justin Verlander – Put the fizzle in the shizzle mizzle. Sorry about that I think I just had a stroke. Any-who I saw on Twitter (btw make sure you are following us, check the link on the top of this page) that Verlander has thrown 2,689 pitches so far this season, which is 260 more than anyone else in baseball. I call that the “Suck It Verducci Effect”
Zack Greinke – 7IP, 2ER, 7Ks, 2 Bad Pitches. Oh Greinke, You Complete Me! Just don’t get too wrapped up in me. I’m a heartbreaker, and we know how fragile you are.
Jhonny Peralta – 3-4, HR, 3 RBI. Jhonny is certainly earning that mystery “h” in his name this year.
Alex Rodriguez – Had the stiches taken out of his knee and he’s been working out in the pool. “Cameron, I WAS IN THE POOL!
Tommy Hanson – 6IP, 6 ER and the WIN! Well we’ll take it, but what an U-G-L-Y start. Where’s Youkilis to absorb Hanson’s ugly start?
Javier Vasquez – 4 1/3IP, 5ER. Selig should really do something fun for once and make it a rule where if you give up more than 3ER to the Padres you get shot in the leg. Intense? Yes! Will it only really happen to Marlins pitchers? Yes!
Miguel Olivo – Homered yesterday, and listen to me when I tell you he homers in groups. Be ready for more.
Kyle Banks – Recalled to take the spot of Anthony Rizzo. Banks’ power is fo-realz-yo and whenever power can come cheap I am all over it. Average won’t be pretty but who cares? Well I don’t for starters!
Jason Kipnis – Called up to play 2B for the Indians. In AAA this year he had 12 homers and 12 steals in 89 games. He’s certainly worth a flyer for those needing MI help, but he’s young and don’t expect the power to be there just yet. Could be nice for some cheap steals.
